Birds on a Wire Diecut and Mint

I wanted to share a project I made with the new Little Miss Muffet Diecut named Birds on a Wire which was released yesterday!  I used the diecut five times to fill in the background and any birds that I cut off I ended up adding them back into the scene at various places.  The diecut is 6" across so it can be used on many different size cards.  Plus since the birds are spread apart they can be flipped and combined like I did on this project.

The Little Miss Muffet Products on this card are as follows:

The image was colored a while ago so putting together this card was quick and easy.  I'm excited to be able to use the diecut on many of my projects so be watching this spot for more samples.  :D  Thanks for coming by today and make sure you scroll down to the next post and participate in the Blog Hop for lots of prizes and inspiration!  Have a great weekend!

Sunbonnet Fishing

I'm excited to announce that Bugaboo Stamps will now start appearing in rubber over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps!!  It's been so much fun working with Jodie and I'm thrilled to share from project with you today in this monumental Blog Hop!!!  So come and join the fun!!

You should have arrived here from the awesome AUDREY!
(For the full list, you can visit HERE.)

For my project I used Sunbonnet Fishing from Little Miss Muffet Stamps in rubber form and drawn by Jodie from Bugaboo Stamps.  I colored it con kraft paper with Copics and kept the design simple - after all, I'm always... always lacking male happy birthday cards!  LOL  I have an abundance of girl stamps so coloring one for the boys is always a much needed adventure.  :D

We have lots of prizes, new releases and tons of inspiration for you today in this Blog Hop and Release day!!  Make sure you leave a comment along the way for chances to win and here are a few links before you head on to the next stop...

Tilda with Cross Stitched Heart

Brace yourself... I've created a Magnolia scene and colored it full scale!  You're probably not surprised on what I've added through coloring but I'm sure you'll be shocked at what I didn't color... the face!  LOL  Now I can finally "officially" join the Magnolia fan club ... but it's short lived since this is probably the only project that will count towards that "membership."  He he he.

Anyway, before I start describing the project, I am excited to say this project has been approved 100% by Magnolia!  It's true... I've been in communication with Ginny and she said the techniques I used on their images here are acceptable and approved.  (Mon, May 20, 2013 at 1:00 AM CDT)  So in other words, the possibilities to my creativity are endless.

I've used several images on this one and they're all form Magnolia too!  There were five stamps that were masked and/or cut out to create this scene, including: Tilda with Cross Stitched Heart, I Love You (I've left off the "You" portion), Lovely Balloons (only one of them), Tilda and Her Bunny (just the bunny was used), and finally Tilda's Tin Boxes.

The main Tilda image is a Christmas themed stamp but I wanted to show that it could be used for other seasons too and I picked a Valentine's Day theme.  This works perfect with Tilda's Tin Boxes and I accentuated the theme with bright pinks, reds and purples.  The tin with the hearts shows each of the various colors.  As an after thought I wish I had added more browns or at least swapped the colors for the red tin and brown one.  But overall, the image colors still work.

Here's the first surprise... I kept track of the colors I used!!!  Gasp!  I know... but here they are broken down into the groups used, listed left to right from the darkest to the lightest...

V17, V15, V12, V01
V99, V95, V93, V91
R39, R37, R17, R22, R12
R59, R56, R83, R81
RV29, RV14, RV32, RV10
RV69, RV66, RV63
E29, E25, E23, E21
C7, C5, C3, C1
E79, E77, E74, E71, E70
E23, E53, E21, E00, E000
Y23, YR23, YR07
BV25, BV23
BG99, BG96, BG93, BG90

The second most shocker, well for me at least, is that I colored a standard face on Tilda!  It was hard... I mean really hard to restrain myself.  In face, over the weekend it took me three tries to keep it simple but I finally managed to do it on this one.  LOL  And yes, that means I have two more Magnolia projects to show off!  I'm not going to tell you what I did ... but suffice it to say, Magnolia lovers are sure to LUV this project and non-Mangolia lovers will LUV the others.  (Oops, I might have said too much!)

I experimented a lot on this project and if you haven't noticed the subtle differences by now, I thought I'd divulge the hidden treasures. There are several things that I think would be considered "out of the norm" with various difficulty levels.  Here they are, in the order of creation...

(1) Masked multiple images together
(2) Omitted portions of the stamp when inking (x2)
(3) Cut the image up and only used a portion of it
(4) Added a Valentine picture to the balloon
(5) Changed the Santa Stocking to a Beanie Hat
(6) Converted the sweater into two shirts (a short sleeved over a long sleeved)
(7) Added a large stripe to the shirt
(8) Created a hole in Tilda's shoe
(9) Gave the bunny patches of color
(10) Drew bunny whiskers with a black pen

Here you can see the big hole that I put in Tilda's shoe.  I get a good chuckle out it because it looks like a bullet hole blasted out from the inside.  LOL  Next time I'll make sure the inside is the same color as the socks and also try to have the toe showing a big.  ;D  Finally, the last thing I did was add the green background to help counteract all those pinks and purples.

I hope you like it and thanks for dropping by today!

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:
(Not necessarily for the prizes but just to share the project.)

Magnolia-licious Challenge - Weather (It's storming outside and the power is out?)

Poorly Chester

Oi... it's Monday!  This has been us this past week - all stuffed up with allergies and sinus problems with a few infections here and there.  So I thought it was a perfect card to show today!  LOL

The images I used are Poorly Chester from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and designed by Pollycraft, and Totally A-Maze-ing from Stampin Up.  I've wanted to use the maze for a while but it's so huge that it's hard to fit on the card.  I think I've managed to get it one on there okay and also came up with another idea which I'll show later on.

I think PJs always look cute as the traditional blue and white stripes but this time I wanted to try something different and went with turquoise and yellow to match the paper. And of course, I had to give him a pink nose!  LOL

We're all on meds and we'll be feeling much better - just in time for the holiday weekend next week.  Whohoo... a 3-day weekend!!  Then after that, one week of school and the kiddos will be out for the summer.  Yeah... that should be fun.  :D

BBQ Chester

It's another challenge day at Little Miss Muffet Stamps and this fortnight we're challenging you to use the colors Kraft, Red and White!  Make sure you head on over to the LMMS Challenge blog to check out all the other DT creations - they're fabulous!!  For my project, I decided to take this opportunity to try coloring with Copic markers on Kraft paper and this is what I ended up with...

I used BBQ Chester from Little Miss Muffet Stamps drawn by Pollycraft.  In the background I also used the accessory chef hat that comes with this stamp to create a custom background paper suited for the theme.  :D  The butterfly is chipboard embellishment from Make it Crafty and the tag is a diecut from Stampin' Up (I think.)

Here's a close up of Chester.  I loved how his skin color turned out, however, I would have like to have the white more... well, white!  LOL  Maybe next time I'll try paper piecing and see how that works.

It's raining outside this evening here in Texas which got me to wonder, how many different ways there are to describe rain. I've heard that Eskimos have an unusually large number of words for snow (see HERE for a good chuckle.)  However, is it true for rain too?  I've found a few sites that will list some by my favorite so far is one from BBC News titled "Fifty Words for Rain."  Out of that one... my favorite, and most fitting for the weather outside is ... "Raining Stair-rods: Any garden furniture not taken indoors floats away. Reporters on 24-hour news channels began using words torrential and holding their hands out with their palms upturned."  So in other words, I need to hurry up and click on "Publish" before I loose power for the night!  LOL

Batty Baxter

It's been an interesting couple of days but I've finally received my test scores for my grade and I'm excited to report that I've passed all my classes this semester!!  It was a relief for me that the passing point was much lower than I ever expected but I'm not going to argue with that!  LOL   So after I figure out a few things and organize myself, that means I can finally set back into a routine.  Ahhh, that will feel nice!

Anyway, I wanted to quickly share a project I made a while back using Batty Baxter from Make it Crafty plus the Ornate Corners chipboard which I've colored black.  I colored and created this last fall so I'm not sure what all my motivation was.  I think I was experimenting with black and red blending on the wings but that's about all I can remember.  Hope you like it anyway and thanks for dropping by today.  Have a great Monday!!  :D

Annie & Sitting Flowers

I wanted to share a project I colored this week using the new adorable images from Make it Crafty... specifically the little girl Annie!    These new little girls are great color and you can go simple or complex and they'll turn out great either way!  I went for complex and tried out a few things on this one.  First of all, I merged it with the Sitting Flowers background which matches the detailed style of this image perfectly - not too detailed, not too simple.  At my house we've been watching the film Arrietty repeatedly so that was my inspiration for the sizing of the images.  But hay, it's better than watching a Disney musical over and over and over and .... so I'm not really complaining.   LOL

For part of the clothes I tried to go for a pin striping look but as you can see my hands were a little shaky and heavy so the stripes are a little more bold than I had originally planned.  However, they match the paper I was using so it all works out.  The other section I had fun with was her hair! It's been a long while since I've colored bright hair so that was a lot of fun.  :D  Then I added white streaks just for good measure.

The card was simple to put together and I was even able to use a paper pad that was almost all gone - it always feels good to use up ALL the paper!  I only have 2 sheets left so we'll see if I make it all the way.  Corner chipboard was added in the colors and I liked the raw looks so I didn't need to do anything there.  Then I had these spectacles rub-on sheets on my desk so I decided to use that too.  And it also helps with the illusion that this girl is a little person so that was a bonus.

Thanks for dropping by today and I hope you've enjoyed this bit of inspiration today!  Maybe it will inspire you to try out a button nose, crazy bright hair or perhaps it got you in a mood to eat your apple today - as long as it inspired you to do something that was my intentions.  LOL  Have a great weekend!

Here's the stuff on this project that you'll want to get from Make it Crafty!
